Individuals that have lost their jobs through layoff or other circumstances can receive assistance in finding new employment from the One-Stop Center and may be eligible for grants and scholarships to pay for additional training to improve their existing skills or gain new skills required to work in a new industry.
Youth age 16 to 24 years old can receive assistance in finding employment , education and training opportunities through the One-Stop Center. Specialized programs are available for eligible youth that provide financial assistance with tuition, fees, books and supplies for participants.
The One-Stop Center has a special commitment to veterans. As provided by the Jobs for Veterans Act, workNet Batavia gives Priority of Service to veterans and their eligible spouses for our job search workshops and training grants.
We have a variety of services available from our partners for people that may need accommodations. At the One-Stop Center, we have an assistive technology station for access to the Internet for customers that may have visual or hearing impairment. In addition, our partners at the Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services are available to speak with persons with disabilities about specific needs and career support programs.
The One-Stop Center staff has experience working with older individuals transitioning into new jobs or returning to the workforce. In addition to assistance with resumes, online profiles and job searches for those aged 55 or better, the Senior Community Service Employment Program provides training and work experience for unemployed seniors.
